I know I've written a lot of serious posts lately. But, I have something funny (at least i think so) to share.
Almost every night, I have at least one visitor. Sometimes it is because someone wet the bed. Sometimes for a bad dream. Or sometimes, because one of my kids is sick. And for one child, the visit is unintentional. I have a sleepwalker. But last night, the visit was from my eleven year old. He pulled me out of a deep sleep to tell me that he couldn't sleep. "I've been laying there forever, and I just can't sleep!" he said. So, bleary eyed and only slightly awake, I got out of bed and walked him back to his room and crawled in bed next to him. He laid there for a second and in a slightly confused voice said, "Mom, what are you doing???" I replied, "Oh, ummm, you said you can't sleep and this is what I do when the other kids can't sleep." "yeah," he replied. "well, it's kinda awkward!" AHHHHH, obviously, my eleven year old wasn't looking for a snuggle with mom! I prayed for him and moved him into the guest room bed for a change of location. Then I shuffled back to bed hoping and praying that he doesn't remember that seriously strange parenting moment of mine. He doesn't let me hug him in public anymore. I'm not surprised he doesn't want me to snuggle him anymore. Haha! It made me a little sad to realize that he is growing up so fast. But, it made me excited for the things to come. Oh, as a side note, my four year old crawled into my bed at 6am because he wanted to snuggle me. :)
Yep - that's funny!
